We have been producing murder mystery dinners in Washington, DC using traditional formats and some unique to our company. These are designed to meet the needs of almost any group or gathering anywhere.

In general, people think of a Washington, DC murder mystery dinner being where actors come together and they build tension between the characters until the crime occurs. The audience is led by a comedic crime solver who interacts directly with the participants of the event. Attendees help examine clues, evaluate witnesses and alibis, choose from a variety of suspects and determine the culprit. That is just one of many approaches we take in The DMV.

We have choices that range from using participants in the show to strictly using our cast to having professional comedians running the event. This is true for corporate events, private parties, weddings and holiday gatherings on Capitol Hill, downtown, the Navy Yard, Foggy Bottom, The Pentagon, Chinatown, on the Mall, Embassy Row, Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland.

Gala Murder Mysteries

The classic format for very large groups with all kinds of added elements. This includes shows for charities as part of our Justifiable Homicide program and are catered to high society. These meet even the most particular of guests.

Straight Murder Mystery Dinners

The industry standard bring 4-7 actors interacting with your crowd leading up to a murder and a comedic investigation. Meet and talk with the crazy cast of characters, witness a crime and then work together to solve it!

Ambush Mysteries

We create a scenario where the audience is unaware that a murder mystery show is taking place. Up until the dead body hits the floor, they think it is really happening. The relief lets them break loose and have a great time!

Participation Mysteries

With both Dartmouth Plan Mysteries, where everyone at your party is a character, and Cambridge Solution Mysteries, where we use roughly one participant from your group per table, we have great interactive mysteries to get your people directly involved!

Wedding Shows

People are often looking for new ways to have their nuptials. A mystery evening is a great way to have a unique and memorable experience with friends and family. We do REHEARSAL DINNERS and RECEPTIONS.

$frick and frack$

Frick & Frack Shows

More of a stand-up comedy routine, this involves one or two detectives investigating an improvised whodunit while directly involving your audience members in the crime. This creates a personalized show that could never be repeated!

And even if we don't know anything about the audience ahead of time, our ambush shows can completely immerse the audience in the midst of the mayhem until they realize that it's a show. This causes the audience to fully become involved in the event and the things that they have seen influence their solving of the crime because our actors can adjust to changing circumstances.

These shows can be provided not only in the evening, but also make a great idea for a lunch or at other times during the day that might not even be around a meal. This goes well with ambush scenarios when our people are supposed to be there for another purpose. Let us discuss various ideas that can work for you.

We can provide these at locations on Capitol Hill, downtown, K-Street, the Navy Yard, The RiverFront, Foggy Bottom, The Pentagon, NoMa, Chinatown, on the Mall, Embassy Row, the government buildings, Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland or anywhere else that you might think of. We do not provide the food or the venue!

WE COME TO YOU!
We work with groups that are small, medium and large. We also work with people that are in the city, the suburbs, and that are in more rural areas. It never made sense to get our own facilities. We come to a venue of your choosing and this allows you to make your own food and beverage options. In general, you want enough light to see, enough space to move around comfortably, and it should be quiet enough to hear. Everything else can be adjusted to. We also have our insurance in order and can have COIs with your venue as an additional insured, if required.

WHAT IS THE REASON?

The first step is to determine your needs. This includes potential goals, desires and concerns. Is it more than just entertainment? If you are looking to show appreciation to clients or employees, for example, then we would take one approach. If it is family and friends, we might approach it differently. The more we know about what has already been decided can allow us to narrow the conversation to approaches that interest you.

WHAT ARE THE DETAILS? WHERE? WHEN? HOW MANY?

We need to know the type of venue you will have and where you will be. A date, or date range, for when you would like to have this and what time frame you are looking for will help to determine our commitment and availability. Knowing the size of your group, though that will likely just be an estimate, will allow us to choose appropriate options for the performance and have a better feel for the resources required.

DO YOU HAVE A BUDGET?

If you know budget limitations, that can allow us to restrict the conversations to those options that will be within your financial constraints. This works in both directions. We don't want to overbuild and propose options that can't be done. Also, we don't want to not provide a large enough of a show to achieve the results that will exceed your expectations.
