THEY improv's Tropical Punch Remembers the Watergate Tapes in "Cover Up and Stay Warm," a Special Comedy Performance at the Fort Lauderdale Comedy Club on Saturday, June 23rd at 10pm.

Oakland Park, FL: THEY improv, a leader in South Florida comedy continues their effort to change the face of comedy with their politically motivated show, "Cover Up and Stay Warm" at the Fort Lauderdale Comedy Club at 840 East Oakland Park Blvd., two blocks west of Dixie on Saturday night, June 23rd at 10pm.

Forty years earlier, to the day, Richard Nixon was caught on tape talking about using the CIA to cover-up the Watergate break-in. And on this night, Tropical Punch will make fun of all things scandalous in a romp of improvisational comedy that will feature interrogations, a political scandal debate and other more traditional fan favorites that have made THEY improv's Tropical Punch one of the most sought after comedic teams in South Florida.

While tickets are $10, anyone that shows up at the door with recording devices to record the show or if they claim, "I am not a crook" will get in for half-price. While people are welcomed to record the show, and even encouraged, they are not expected to sell such recordings and it isn't a waiver of copyright. In fact, the troupe asks that all people who record the show provide a copy to the troupe.

"Those who forget the past are destined to repeat it," says THEY improv's director Todd Rice. "Improv can never be repeated even if we tried, so we're destined to make fun of the past!.

The show will feature THEY improv's professional players from Tropical Punch celebrating everything scandalous and will even have a call to register to vote as part of their "Improv the Vote" series of shows.

THEY improv mostly performs for major corporate clients and for private events with a collection of improv comedy, game shows and murder mystery dinners. This is a rare opportunity to see what only corporations get to enjoy. Some of the top improvisational comedians in South Florida are coming together for this performance.

The show will feature improvisational pieces that will combine Saturday Night Live styled scenes along with Whose Line Is It Anyway? styled games all based on audience suggestions. With at least four performers on stage, the night will be fast-paced and no-holds-barred.

The show may also be secretly taped by those in attendance. But with the theme of the show being "Cover Up and Stay Warm" about government cover-ups, how could you expect anything less?

Tickets are $10 and there is a two-drink minimum and you must be 21 or over to attend.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time, which is 10pm on Saturday, June 23rd.
