THEY improv at the Seminole Hard Rock Improv brings out the stars to help individuals with Cistic Fibrosis through The Reach for the Stars Foundation on August 22nd.
Hollywood, FL: THEY improv, Broward County's improv troupe, continues their effort at changing the face of comedy in South Florida with their benefit performance for The Reach for the Stars Foundation at 8pm (doors open at 7pm) on Wednesday August 22nd at the Seminole Paradise Improv in Hollywood, Florida.
In an evening full of top-notch comedy and participation of sports celebrities, the show will raise funds and awareness for The Reach for the Stars Foundation. The Reach for the Stars Foundation is dedicated to providing individuals afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis and their families with the resources, knowledge and support necessary to manage their unrelenting battle with this insidious disease. Cystic Fibrosis is not only physically debilitating, but carries a heavy financial and psychological burden for families.
"The symbolism of reaching for the stars is not lost on us," said THEY improv Director Todd Rice. "It's about hope. Hope for a cure, hope for a brighter future, a hope for a tomorrow. The Reach for the Stars Foundation brings hope to so many. Helping them to help others is the least we can do."
The THEY improv '
Comedy With a Cause' program continues to raise money for charities while changing the face of comedy in South Florida. The program has helped local and national charities find funds and attention for their causes while entertaining audiences at some of South Florida's most prestigious venues.
The Reach for the Stars Foundation is devoted to improving the quality of life for these afflicted individuals as they await the cure, and to help ease the burden of the families as they engage in their battle with CF: a battle that never ends.
"The Reach for the Stars Foundation does some great work," said THEY Director Todd Rice. "They improv the lives of many people. Helping people out while enjoying a great night of comedy at the same time is an offer people can't refuse. That's what our Comedy With A Cause is all about."
"We are excited about having a great night of comedy to benefit the foundation," said The Reach for The Stars Foundation Director Solange Beaumard. "When people give to us, it's nice for them to receive something in return. Laughter is a great gift."
Tickets are $15 + tax, with 100% of the ticket sales going to the charity.
