FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THEY improv joins with Majic 102.7 to benefit the Miami Children's Hospital "Radio Lollipop" program at the Miami Improv on Wednesday, May 16th.
Coconut Grove, FL: THEY improv, Broward County's improv troupe, will perform to benefit the Miami Children's Hospital "Radio Lollipop" program at the world famous Miami Improv on Wednesday, May 16th. The doors open at 7pm with entertainment and raffle leading up to the live performance beginning at 8pm. This rare jaunt into Miami-Dade County will also feature an appearance by WMXJ Majic 102.7 on-air personality Joe Johnson.
THEY improv is donating their performance as part of their
Comedy With A Cause program. "Our '
Comedy With a Cause' program has successfully raised tens of thousands of dollars for area charities while providing quality entertainment," said THEY Director Todd Rice. "Radio Lollipop has brings laughter to children and families at the hospital when they need it the most. We're happy to help any way we can."
Radio Lollipop believes in the healing power of play, having begun in 1978 at Queen Mary's Hospital for Children in Surrey England. Since it's beginning, the program has expanded to Australia, New Zealand, and of course the United States. On August 14th, 1996, Miami Children's became the first hospital in the United States to host a Radio Lollipop.
THEY improv continues to change the face of Comedy in South Florida by bringing this second annual show together at the Miami Improv for this worthwhile event, this time with the help of Majic 102.7. The station is a valuable member of this effort and has offered an extreme amount of support for the cause.
"Majic 102.7 has a long history of helping children in need," said THEY Director Todd Rice. "Through the Majic Children's Fund and other ways, we're happy to be working again with their organization which continues to prove that they are genuinely interested in being a positive contributor to the community around us."
In addition to the comedy show, there will also be a raffle of very impressive donated items that will help raise money for the organization.
Each THEY improv show is based on audience suggestions, so there can never be the same show twice. Every show is a unique experience and is shared only among those in attendance.
