August 20, 2006: Comedy performance raises $2,500 for Gilda's Club
by Jana Danger
Comedy troupes Laughing Gas and THEY improv got lots of laughs at a benefit for Gilda's Club South Florida. More than 250 guests watched the show at the Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theater at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood. Majic 102.7 radio announcer Joe Johnson, who used to do stand-up comedy, served as master of ceremonies at the event, which raised $2,500. Gilda's Club South Florida, named for the late comedian Gilda Radner, provides social and emotional support networks for cancer patients, and their families and friends.

About THEY improv
THEY improv is an informal group of actors getting together and performing improv, often for charities and always for the betterment of everyone. For now there is no corporate structure and no financial relationship, with their first several performances to be done for charities and the money never even being seen by the troupe. Marketing funds and efforts will either be donated by the members or provided by the charities themselves.
