It's not often, if ever, that you find yourself in the company of a killer.

But attendees at a special dinner at The Phoenix will be doing just that when they try to solve a murder mystery.

The special event will begin at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the former restaurant turned entertainment venue at 1122 Broadway. It will feature a cocktail hour, dinner theater and comedy show.

During the cocktail hour, actors from the traveling comedy troop They Improv will mingle with the audience and set the stage for the crime. The audience will then play detective to solve the crime. The show has a 1920s theme, and guests are encouraged to dress in attire representative of the era.

Chef Mike Bentz will be in the kitchen preparing the dinner. Choices include a 12-ounce prime rib, chicken breast with fresh herb Beurre Blanc and quinoa-stuffed Portobello Mushroom. Meals will be served with Caesar salad, roasted garlic whipped potatoes and steamed asparagus. For dessert, New York style cheesecake with raspberry sauce will be served.
